B.A.S.S. photographer Andy Crawford is on Tyler Rivet. Crawford relayed that Rivet has had a hard time getting the bass to commit to his jerkbait, blaming the cloud coverage.
“I need the sun to shine.”
As Rivet saw the clouds start to break upriver, he couldn’t wait on the sun to make it to where he was below the bridge. He picked up, ran past the cloud line, and promptly caught a critical 3-plus pound bass.
This bass gives Rivet 66 pounds, 11 ounces. With only 13 pounds today, Rivet surely assumes he’s trailing Bradon Cobb, who started the day 2 pounds, 1 ounce ahead. But Rivet actually sits a few ounces ahead of Cobb at the moment, who is having an even tougher day with 10 pounds.
Both anglers along with current leader Steve Kennedy have plenty enough to fish tomorrow. But not one of these three anglers are concerned with merely fishing tomorrow. Getting this close is rare, they all want to win. Kennedy is sitting prettiest so far with nearly 70 pounds for three days.
