Hunter Shryock has seen a lot of big fish today, but it’s been hard to get them to bite. He finally got another kicker to bite moments ago, and then the challenge became getting it to the boat. In one of the most epic battles we’ve seen captured by the camera crew in quite some time, Shryock just finagled a 4-pounder out from under a dock with light spinning gear.
This bass put Shryock in a virtual three-way tie for first on BassTrakk, with Jake Whitaker and Patrick Walkers. All three anglers are averaging 20 pounds per day currently, with Drew Benton doing the same sitting in 4th. Day 1 leader Matt Robertson sits only 2 pounds back of the lead, with four 2-pounders in the box. A lot of room for the Ugly Stick pro to cull, and he could easily leapfrog way out front with just a couple big bites.
