Daisuke Aoki is fishing a classic, textbook staging area used by migrating bass throughout the spawning cycle.
The key attractant for the bass is this vast underwater hump as seen in orange, and bordered by a creek channel.
Aoki keeps his boat on the outside edge, in the green area, and makes casts onto the top of the hump with a 5″ Deps Sakamata Shad. Strikes occur on the edge of the hump, as he twitches the rod tip while using a slow retrieve. Alternatively, he uses a self-designed DSTYLE Decapture swimbait.
