Brandon Palaniuk is targeting bass super shallow this week. So much so that he couldn’t even gain access to where he caught most of his weight on Day 1, after the water dropped about 6 inches overnight. This is a great drone shot from cameraman Wes Miller, showing Palaniuk unhooking his first fish of the morning, a 2-pounder caught on a frog.
Palaniuk has his shallow water anchors deployed to hold him in place, and his outboard trimmed up and trolling motor propped up to where he can maneuver around the shallows. The water was so shallow in fact, that Palaniuk politely gave a hitchhiker thumb motion to the drone after putting this fish in the livewell, to ask the operator to send the drone higher in the air so that it didn’t spook the fish.
