We’re coming up on the last hour of competition for Day 1 of the 2023 Folds of Honor Bassmaster Elite at Sabine River. The anglers have caught fish on a little bit of everything today. There’s been a lot of flipping from the likes of Brock Mosley and Lee Livesay. This close quarter combat produced the two biggest bites we’ve seen on camera. Then there’s the topwater team with Greg Hackney and Jason Christie heading up that crew, Christie opting for a hollow body frog where Hackney has laid with a buzzbait nearly all day.
Brandon Cobb caught a few cranking a squarebill, Hackney boated some on a spinnerbait early and Cobb caught a few on a floating worm early as well. So, a little bit of everything, with the running theme being shallow.
