Bryan New is wrecking them this morning. He has flirted with the unofficial lead off and on all day, and just tugged it away for the moment from Kyoya Fujita by boating a 5-6, the Phoenix Boats Big Bass of the day thus far. New now has an estimated 23-2 on BassTrakk, the biggest bag of the morning, to add to his 20 pounds, 6 ounces from yesterday.
New has a baby due any minute now, and he is fishing as a man on a mission. When the call comes, he plans to head straight to the ramp, straight to the airport and then be picked up at the door of the terminal when he lands. He will rush as fast as humanly possible from the waters of St. Clair all the way to his wife’s bedside, just as soon as he gets the word. He’s made that decision all ready. And so, he is now doing all he can to make the most of his and his wife’s sacrifice of him not being there during the buildup.
No doubt there are a million thoughts running through the mind of our new leader New. One main focus though. And that clarity is producing great dividends.
