Matty Wong, the second year Elite from Hawaii, has termed big smallmouth, “spicy meatballs” recently. Currently he’s in 6th place in BassTrakk with a five fish limit of 18-12. He has one 5-pounder in that mix, but to move further up the leaderboard he’ll need another big meatball.
This morning Steve Bowman, our driver Elijah and myself had a devil of a time finding Wong. After an hour long, rough, boat ride we finally located him near Lake Ontario’s Prince Edward Bay.
Wong is fighting to stay qualified for the 2024 Elite Series. A strong finish here will certainly help.
