Bill Lowen had plenty of highs and lows this week at Lake Okeechobee. He started the week in 80th place with only 11 pounds, 9 ounces. Day 2 he landed 29 pounds, 1 ounce, and jumped into 10th. A tough Day 3 with only 3 pounds, 15 ounces dropped him to 40th for the event.
In doing so, Lowen cashed a $10,000 check and eclipsed the $1.5 million club for B.A.S.S. winnings. There are 37 anglers who have accomplished that feat and only 10 active anglers on the 2023 Elite Series roster that carry the title. Despite the roller coaster week, Lowen can take away that high as he packs up to head to Seminole for stop No. 2.
