Brandon Lester is really pouring it on now, adding a 4- pound, 8- ounce bass and a 6- pounder within five minutes of each other, culling up unofficially to 19- pounds, 10- ounces on BassTrakk. What looked like a solid morning in AOY points for Lester has suddenly turned into a massive start for this event and has put Lester in a commanding lead early, with Jason Christie sitting in second currently with 11- pounds, 8- ounces.
With all the talk about how good the evening bite is going to be, Lester has put himself in a heck of a position early on Day 1 to continue to cull up and have to hoist a big bag on the scales at weigh-in. His next bass to cull weighs 2- pounds, 10- ounces. So he’s one 3- pound plus bite away right now from us seeing our first bag of the day over 20- pounds.
