Steve Kennedy has moved way out in front of Day 2 leader Brandon Cobb and fellow front-runner Tyler Rivet. Kennedy has a near 5-pound lead over Rivet and more than 5 pounds on Cobb. His estimated 22-pound, 4-ounce bag may very well be the biggest bag of the day so far, with Logan Latuso being the only challenger, having around 23 pounds.
Both Rivet and Cobb are in fine shape, to some degree. Rivet with a small limit of 11 pounds and Cobb with just three fish for 8 pounds both have plenty of room for improvement. And there has been a good big bite late the last couple of days, with Cobb catching a 7-pounder and a 5-pounder around this time yesterday.
Rivet continued to cull even up until after the weigh-in had begun and his competitors in the earlier flights were already off the water. Plenty of time left, but Kennedy has done the majority of his part already.
