Chris Johnston is applying serious pressure to Brandon Palaniuk right now in the AOY race, as well as beating up on the whole field here on the Mississippi River.
Johnston is out in front today with five fish for 13-3 according to BassTrakk, which is likely a conservative estimate knowing Chris.
Meanwhile Brandon Palaniuk is currently sitting in 67th, with zero fish so far.
If the scales closed for the tournament right now, Johnston would oust Palaniuk by a couple dozen points or so. Lester started the day between the two, eight places behind Johnston for the tournament and only a point ahead of him in the AOY race. This means Johnston would beat Lester as well.
This one is getting increasingly interesting by the minute.
