Carl Jocumsen is now sprinting up the leaderboard with a couple of 5-pounders… and a 4. Jocumsen started the day in 22nd, but quickly went to work this morning putting a 5- pounder in the boat at 8:18, followed by another at 9:41 and then adding a 4- pounder to the mix at 9:55.
Jocumsen has climbed well into the Top 10 currently, sitting in 5th place. But he still has work to do if he wants to stay there. After Day 2, the Top 10 cutline sat at 40 pounds, 10 ounces. Though the fishing is and will be considerably tougher today, some of these guys will still catch them. There will likely be a half dozen bags over 20 pounds brought in again. To take a wild guess at what the Top 10 cutline will be to go fishing on Championship Sunday, let’s call it 58 pounds, 2 ounces.
This means Jocumsen still needs to cull up from his estimated 17 pounds to around 21. He’s certainly on pace to do it. But he’s contending with the likes of anglers like Logan Latuso, who has moved up from 20th to 4th, with two 5s and a 6- pounder. A battle going on to see who will make it to tomorrow.
