Cody Huff has flown under the radar this week, quietly getting himself into the Top 10 thanks to steady fishing. Consistency has been extremely difficult to attain for the Elite anglers this week. Our Day 3 leader Austin Felix has posted weights from 14-2 to 23-3. There’s been more that 5-pounds of variation in Chris Johnston’s bags, who lead Day 2 and now sits in third. Patrick Walters posted weights from 12- to 20- pounds and the trend continues.
Huff, on the other hand, has had some of the most consistent weights of the Top 10 along with Taku Ito, both with less than 2-pounds of margin in their daily creels. Huff’s steady hand took him from 32nd on Day 1 to 14th on Day 2 and then all the way to 10th yesterday. If Huff can keep this up, he’ll most likely climb a few more spots in the standings today, which makes several thousand dollars worth of difference come check cutting time.
