Greg Hackney is a threat anytime there’s a shallow water bite happening. He’s a real threat whenever the shallow water bite is the only thing happening. It gets even uglier for the competition when he’s this close to home. Hackney won here in 2018. He’s off to a solid start this morning sitting in 10th.
“I’ll tell you what my plan is today. I’m going to poke holes in as many as I can.”
Hackney is looking to weed through lots of fish and cull up best he can. He’s doing that this morning, with a limit of bass and a dozen or so bites to boot. The biggest thing he has working in his favor today, he’s alone. Most of the time on the Sabine, if you find bass, you find boats. No other anglers nearby for Hackney, and very few other anglers can say that this morning.
