It is windy and wavy to start Day 2 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite in Lake Oahe and Jeff Gustafson has reached his starting area.
The Canadian angler landed in 4th-place after Day 1 with 19 pounds, 9 ounces. This week, Gussy will look to claim his second blue trophy, the first coming at the Tennessee River last February.
He landed his first keeper just before 8 a.m. but overall the first hour and a half has been slow. Gussy has burned through a rotation of rods and has been watching his graphs.
Drew Benton started the morning fishing nearby and landed a quality keeper around 8:15 a.m. followed by another solid smallmouth at 8:24.
Since, both anglers have drifted down this stretch of river a good ways trying to generate another bite.
