There’s been a persistent soundtrack on Bassmaster LIVE this morning, the steady clicking of the drag of spinning gear. A rhythmic click, click, click as the drag on an angler’s reel does its thing during the fight. And then the chorus, as a 4-pound smallmouth makes a run and the reel screams for a few seconds. For the last 30 minutes, this song has occupied the airwaves far more than the rare occasion of silence.
An absolute whackfest is in full swing on Lake St. Clair. Just two hours into the day, the Top 10 anglers are already nearing 19 pounds per day. The astonishing thing is, this will likely be the top 50 cutline at the end of today to fish on Day 3, at this rate. David Mullins sat in 50th with 19-2 to start the day. And they’re biting better today than they did yesterday, best we can tell.
