Drew Benton and Kyoya Fujita just put back-to-back 6-pounders in the boat, using drastically different gear. Benton jumped out front by 3 pounds, snatching his 6-pounder off bed with a heavy action rod and likely 20 pound test fluorocarbon. Fujita used a micro bait, light line and a spinning rod setup to boat his. This fish filled Futjita’s limit and moved him into 6th place on BassTrakk.
These two bass are currently tied for the Phoenix Boats Big Bass of the day, with a little over and hour until the start of weigh-in. Jake Whitaker, Hunter Shryock, Jason Williamson and Brock Mosley have all culled in the last hour to move into the Top 10, or better secure their positions there. The late day big bite is underway.
