Drama on the way

Anglers are heading to their starting spots to begin Day 2 of the Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Pickwick Lake. The key difference between Day 1 and 2, the order in which the anglers are leaving the dock has been flipped.

That means the guys in the 70s, 80s and 90s yesterday that were “woe is me”-ing it up on the stage after not being able to get on anything on Day 1 are going to get the first shot at all the prime offshore spots today.

This should make for an interesting morning on the water, as inevitably anglers will show up on spots where other anglers fished on Day 1. The presumed newcomers to the spots will be chastised with the usual, “I didn’t see you here at all yesterday,” by the guys that were fortunate enough to get on the juice on Day 1. And, “I fished it later in the day,” will probably be the common volley returned by the anglers that get first shot today.

Some will be lying, some will be telling the truth. There will be some honest mistakes and some blatant hole jumping. Basically, there’s going to be some drama early this morning. And most likely some of it will go down on Bassmaster LIVE with 6 cameras covering the top 6 guys this morning. They were all obviously fishing very productive water on Day 1. And productive water is an envied commodity here this week. This should get interesting quick.
