As Day 2 dawns, Day 1 leader Matt Robertson is already off to a good start. He has had no mechanical issues and he still has all of his clothes on. We’ll see how the day fares in both regards.
During the Day 1 weigh-in, Robertson informed us that he had boat troubles to start the day. And, after the service crews got him back going, he said all of his big ones came on one bait. The assumption that this big bait enthusiast likely busted 25- pounds on a big swimbait may have been a bit presumptuous. The Kentuckian was tight lipped at yesterday’s weigh-in, but he’s started the morning with a topwater. So the new assumption is, this has to be what he was doing yesterday to catch them.
We’ll know for sure shortly, as Bassmaster LIVE and LIVE MIX get rolling soon. Should be a fun day of fishing to watch. Mark Menendez had 15-2 on Day 1. He left the dock this morning in 70th place. The fish are big and they are biting on Murray.
