Davis sight fishing in a hidey hole

“We’re about to expose this spot,” said Will Davis Jr as he trimmed his motor up and plowed his way into a shallow backwater. He spent a few minutes in the pocket, plucking a couple keepers off bed. The best weighed around 2 and 1/2 pounds. But he had a bigger one marked in this area that has since vacated. He’s not done bed fishing yet though.

Davis is headed to where he has a 5- pounder on bed now. He told the LIVE audience that he worked on the fish for over an hour yesterday (on the final day of practice) before he finally got it to bite. This seems like an odd thing to do during practice. But for a bass that size, pressuring the fish into locking onto the bed yesterday may have her primed and ready to bite today. We’ll see shortly.
