Mike Iaconelli is catching and culling good ones again. Ike sits in 4th on BassTrakk currently, with an estimated 17 pounds to backup the 18-6 he had on Day 1. The 50th place cutline needed to fish on Day 3 sat at an astonishing 17-5 after Day 1. This means that Ike has secured his spot to fish tomorrow, but will likely still be filtered down into the 30s if he doesn’t continue to cull.
Jake Whitaker has the current lead. He was the last man with 20 pounds or better on Day 1, which had him sitting in 16th. He has close to 20 again today, with room to cull a couple 3-pounders. Drew Benton sits in second, backing up a better Day 1 performance of 23-0 with 16 pounds on Day 2. Starting the day in second and with three in the box under 3 pounds, Benton is in the best shape at the midway point of the day.
