Drew Cook and Drew Benton are two of the few hopefuls looking to do well here exclusively targeting shallow bass on bed. Benton has ground his way to a small limit for 12 pounds, but he’s seen several good ones on bed he couldn’t get to bite. Drew Cook on the other hand just boated a 6-pounder to move into 13th. With only four fish so far, Cook has an estimated 15 pounds.
It’s likely that several other anglers have plucked big ones off bed today. But no one, not even the Drews believe there are enough bass left bedding to make a run at it this week.
*All that being said, Cook just boated keeper number five to fill his limit. This 3-pounder gives him 18 pounds and moves him into 4th.
