During the fog delay this morning, Jason Christie stopped by the LIVE Mix set and talked about how he bailed on a shallow area around noon yesterday and then regretted it on the run down river as the sun popped out. Looks like he stayed put today and it’s paying off big time. Christie has 18- to 20- pounds, depending on if you believe his BassTrakk estimates or not. He called this one a 7- pounder, likely our Phoenix Boats Big Bass of the event.
Other noteworthy catches and near misses, Jay Przekurat caught a 3- and 1/2-pound spot after losing a 5- pound largemouth. Will Davis Jr boated a nice spot as well. Davis has the lead at the moment, with Brandon Palaniuk likely right there with him. Christie has moved into third.
