Here are the numbers we collected from BassTrakk on Days 1, 2, and 3. Days 1 and 2, the full field of 104 competitors were on the water. The field was cut by more than half for Day 3, with only 50 anglers advancing. We’ll take this into consideration when comparing the data from day to day to day. There were 520 bass logged into BassTrakk on Day 1 and 480 on Day 2. Day 3, the Top 50 logged 239 catches.
Here’s the breakdown of total catches by time of day:

Looking at the average bass caught per angler, the number has dropped from 5 (Day 1) to 4.6 (Day 2). But we saw a slight uptick to 4.8 bass logged into BassTrakk per competitor on Day 3. This makes sense, considering the 50 anglers that were catching bass the best were still on the water. In fact, this number would typically be higher on Day 3 than Day 1 even. But the easiest pickings were caught on Day 1, and the grind really set in yesterday. The best bite window on Day 3 came between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., with a solid bite (considering) lingering for the next couple of hours. This window tightened on Day 3, as compared to Days 1 and 2. There were 77 bass over 4 pounds caught on Day 1, 66 on Day 2, and 40 on Day 3. The big bite per angler actually did rise on Day 3 to the highest we saw all week.
Here’s the breakdown of those big bass by weight:
Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | |
4-pounders | 30 | 31 | 16 |
5-pounders | 28 | 21 | 10 |
6-pounders | 16 | 12 | 6 |
7-pounders | 2 | 2 | 4 |
8-pounders | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Total: | 77 | 66 | 40 |
And here’s the timeframe when those big bites came:
Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | |
7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. | 7 | 9 | 7 |
8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. | 16 | 11 | 3 |
9 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. | 7 | 9 | 5 |
10 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | 9 | 4 | 3 |
11 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | 7 | 8 | 5 |
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. | 10 | 9 | 2 |

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | 4 | 2 | N/A |
Day 3 saw a good quick bite, with 7 big bass being caught in the first hour. We saw an on-again, off-again bite for the majority of the day. And then the best two-hour big bite we saw all week came between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with nearly 40% of the big bites coming in just 25% of the day.
Today on Championship Sunday, we saw an explosive bite early, with the vast majority of the bass caught by our Top 10 in just the first three hours. A storm front pushed through the area and the bite all but stopped completely. The weigh-in is fast approaching now. Will there be a few more giants get caught here late? We’ll see.
