Chad Pipkens made the right decision at takeoff, battling wind and waves to make the long 60 mile run to Erie where he got several big bites. He boated one of those big bites, a 4-2. But the Michigan native lost several other key fish, one over 5 pounds and multiple 4s according to Pipkens. Not getting bit is one thing, but losing big ones, that pill is hard to gulp down when you roll the dice on a long run like this.
What might have been? Pipkens could easily be in the lead with over 20 pounds based solely on the bites he’s lost. Instead, he’s currently sitting in 71st on BassTrakk. Time for him to shake that off though and try to run into another wad of them. Hopefully, for his sake and sanity, he’ll boat them when he does.
