Top College Series prospects for 2025

See the prospects to watch during 2025 Bassmaster College Series competition.

The Strike King Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops is nearly back with the start of the 2025 season. The Harris Chain will kick off the action starting Jan. 22. Time and time again the College Series has proven to provide incredible events and a very stout field of anglers.
From rookies to vets, the College Series has produced a large number of Elite pros. There are now a total of 29 pros on the Elite roster who were previously college anglers. Many of these anglers have claimed a blue trophy and continue to be very successful on the Elite Series.
The college prospects list started in 2022, and since then four anglers featured on the list have qualified for the Elite Series. These are Beau Browning, Tucker Smith, Easton Fothergill and Logan Parks. Robert Gee fished for the University of Tennessee during that time but flew under the radar for the prospects list.
This year the college prospects list, like always, is filled with very capable anglers who have shown they have what it takes to succeed.
Nathan Reynolds – Jake Brown, University of North Alabama
Reynolds and Brown are teaming up for the first time on the College Series this year. Both have seen substantial success through their careers. Reynolds, the previous High School All-American, comes off 2024 with a top five, a top 15 and a seventh-place finish in the National Championship. Jake Brown and brother Walker Brown led Day 1 at Lake Murray.
Carter Nutt – Dylan Nutt, University of North Alabama
The Nutt brothers are on the list again and for good reason. The duo has been incredibly consistent, and they look to continue the streak going into their junior year. They finished third in the overall points race in 2024 and never finished outside the top 20. Be on the lookout for this team as they strive for a win in 2025.
Dalton Head – Peyton Harris, University of Montevallo
Head and Harris are no strangers to hardware on the College Series. They took their second College Series win at the first event of the 2024 season on Lake Murray and finished third a week later on Clarks Hill Lake. The duo ended the season with a top 20 at the National Championship.
Tanner Hadden – Caleb Hudson, University of South Carolina Union
Fresh off the 2024 Bassmaster College Classic Bracket, team Hadden and Hudson took the AOY title in the Lunkers Trail and finished second in the overall standings last season. Their lowest finish throughout the season was seventh — with finishes of third, fourth, fifth, and seventh. They landed in 34th place at the National Championship. You can be sure this team is hungry for a win in 2025.
Andrew Blanton – Garrett Smith, Lander University
Your defending Bassmaster College National Champions and Classic Bracket contenders look to keep the hot streak going into the 2025 season. They brought in 20-9 on the final day of Lake Hartwell to edge out the win by just over 1 pound. Blanton and Smith ranked 15th in the overall AOY.
Nick Dumke – Connor Bell, University of Montevallo
Dumke is looking to continue his very successful college career with new freshman partner Conor Bell. Dumke and long-time partner Easton Fothergill were Team of the Year in 2023 and finished sixth last year on the Legends Trail. The team’s best finish last season was second place on Kentucky Lake.
Lane Clark – Tallis Morrison, Erskine College
Hot off fifth place in the overall Team of the Year standings Clark and Morrison are looking to keep the momentum going as they go into their second season as a pair. This team’s 2024 highlights include third place at the National Championship on Hartwell and 10th- and 17th-place finishes in the regular season.
Drake Hemby – Ewing Minor, Carson-Newman University
2024 was another solid season for team Hemby and Minor. The Carson-Newman duo finished 14th in the Team of the Year race and nearly took the title on Douglas Lake, finishing second by just 7 ounces. The National Championship was also a highlight with a sixth-place finish.
Brendin Simich – Benjamin Travis, Auburn University
Auburn has been known to produce many talented anglers over the years. This team is looking to be one of the next Auburn standouts. Last year they qualified in their second tournament on Kentucky Lake then nearly took the win on Saginaw Bay, placing in third.
Anderson Jones, Lander University
Anderson Jones fished all last season solo and is again fishing solo this year. It seems he has found a system that works for him because he was able to finish sixth in the overall Team of the Year and also took the win on Clarks Hill last year. His other finishes were 23rd, 19th, and 13th with a 41st in the championship. It seems his only disadvantage is not having a net man.
Braxon Hightower – Luke Wenger, Dallas Baptist University
Finishing the year in eighth for Team of the Year these big-bass specialists will be looking for a win this upcoming season. They nearly accomplished that in 2024 on Doulas Lake where they took third place. Their other finishes were 23rd and 18th with only a slight stumble in the National Championship with a 51st.
Wyatt Pearman – Ridge Rutledge, Campbellsville University
Pearman and Rutledge finished last year in 21st in the Team of the Year standings, and they got that done by being super consistent. They finished 41st or better in four of their five events with their best finish being 25th at Kentucky Lake. Watch out for these guys to continue to catch them everywhere they go.
Charlie Wright – Logan Plueger, University of Montevallo
Wright and Pluegar are off a strong ninth-place AOY in the Lunkers trail, and they started last season with a fifth-, eighth- and 35th-place finish. While the end of the season wasn’t up the their standard, look for this team to make a charge in 2025.
Adrian Urso – Corbin Templon, Murray State University
Rounding out the Top 10 in overall Team of the Year points and second on the Legends side, team Urso and Templon have proven they have what it takes. They finished ninth twice and 13th in the regular season, only slipping at the National Championship. If they keep up the top 15 finishes, they will sure be a threat at Team of the Year for 2025.
Peyton Sorrow – Brody Robison, University of Montevallo
Previous Classic Bracket contender Brody Robison is teaming up with with Peyton Sorrow for the 2025 season. Sorrow finished the National Championship with a top 25 and both have a reputation for constancy. This partnership could produce some excitement for the upcoming season.
Lane Stephens – Jack Stephens, McKendree University
The Stephens brothers are teaming up for the 2025 season and should be a force to be reckoned with. Both had solid seasons last year with their respective partners. Lane had a better season overall and finished ninth in the points and eighth in the Bassmaster National Championship. Jack still had a solid year and finished 40th in points. Will the brother chemistry prevail in 2025?
Bryce Dimauro – Tripp Berlinsky, University of North Alabama
While this team didn’t have quite the season they had hoped for in 2024 they will be a team to keep an eye on for 2025. Dimauro and Berlinsky did start last year quickly as they finished a close second at Lake Murray. The duo transferred to UNA together this past year.
Trevor Johnson – Ashton Hehr, Texas A&M
This pair only fished one regular-season event on the College Series, and they won. Hopefully, we will see them at more events this season and see if they make a run up the Team of the Year standings.
Matt Mosby – Hank Sturm, Adrian College
This Adrian team is coming off a very strong 2024 season. They ended up fifth in points on the Legends side and really only slipped in the Bassmaster College National Championship. Their solid finishes consisted of 33rd, 20th, and 10th. Will they make another strong statement in 2025?
Jake Peck – Luke Wyle, Auburn University
Peck is teaming up with a new teammate Luke Wyle. Peck is a previous College Series winner and will look to take another trophy in 2025. Last year, Peck’s top finish was 17th on Lake Murray.
Dylan May – Will Shepherd, Carson-Newman University
Dylan May is joining forces with freshman talent Will Shepherd for the upcoming season. May didn’t have any breakout finishes last season, but with a couple of different partners, he stayed consistent. His best finish was 21st, and he is looking to build going into 2025. Shepherd has had a very successful high school career and is bringing his talents to the College Series.
Hampton Shull – Landon Surrett (not pictured), Lander University
Shull fished most of last season solo and still found success against 200-plus teams at each event. While Shull didn’t start the season like he would have liked he ended strong with a 16th-place finish then finishing 12th in the Bassmaster College National Championship. Shull led that tournament on Day 1.
Jackson Paden – Cody Domingos, University of Tennessee
Paden has teamed up with Joey Bissing starting in high school, but with his graduation, Paden is joining forces with Cody Domingos. Last season for Paden was highlighted by a fourth on Sam Rayburn Reservoir and ending the year in 28th for Team of the Year. Both Baden and Domingos had consistent events with their respective partners.
Reece Keeney – Brantley Anders, Kentucky Christian University
While their season started slow last year, and with different partners, the duo gained traction and came out with a ninth-place finish in the National Championship. They’ve had success in the past, and we will see if these two can continue to build.
Miles Smith – Levi Thibodaux, LSU Shreveport
Although last season was a little up and down, this team has proven they can compete with the best. A 12th-place finish during the regular season and earning 26th place at the National Championship topped their year. Smith also fished solo at Rayburn and fished his way to 19th.
Cole Carr – Brady Pinwar, Adrian College
These two anglers from Adrian College are pairing up for the first time. Both of these anglers were averaging around the 30th spot, and Pinwar topped the year with a 10th-place finish.
Joe Vaulton – Cason Price, Carson-Newman University
There are always standout freshmen who prove themselves in their first season on the College Series. This duo wants to hit the ground running in 2025. Vaulton is a 2024 Bassmaster High School All-American and just in the last year racked up eight victories.
Max Heaton – Michael Ortman, Emmanuel College
Another new team pairing up, Heaton and Ortman have seen success with previous partners. Last year Heaton grabbed two Top 20s and another Top 30 one of which was 14th in the National Championship. Ortman highlighted his season with a 17th in the National Championship.
