Kennedy told us earlier that 11 o’clock would be the magic hour when the big bites would commence again. He’d donned a jacket to combat the cold mist, but that’s lessened and the jacket is off once again.
He’s pulled into a skinny pocket where fish are breaking occasionally. He cast at one, got a bite, and set the hook on water.
There’s a dark spot behind one dock that he thinks looks like a 5 pond bass but he cannot be sure.
Despite the addition of the spinning rod, he has not given up on the big bait possibilities. He wants to get into a zone where he can “call my shot,” and while time is dwindling, prime time may just be starting. With three fish, he’s kept himself in the hunt, but bites similar to the big ones he garnered yesterday would do a lot — not just keep him inside the cut, but also within sight of the lead.
It’s amazing how patient he is. He’s not afraid to change locations, but when he thinks there is a bass present he certainly does not get in a hurry.
