Scattered, smothered, covered

The last photo I wanted to shoot is a photo of a Waffle House, but here I sit. The drone is grounded for the day, and the weather is the story of the day.

A good friend of mine is a forecaster at the National Weather Service in Nashville, my hometown that is about 150 miles to the west of Knoxville. He just told me the Low that is currently causing rain there, and here, is moving about 40 mph. That lines up with the speed of the individual cells clocking at 35-40 mph with movement to the east. It’s just rain; no thunderstorm cells, so that’s good.

Do the math and that means a steady drizzle will fall over the competition area until mid- to late afternoon, which is about the time the competitors are due back to Ned McWhorter Park in downtown Knoxville.

Meanwhile, the fishing will go on. In the meantime, it’s hashbrowns at the Waffle House for me, Andy Crawford, and Eric, our boat driver.
