After practice this week, Brandon Palaniuk wasn’t encouraged by what he’d found in the Harris Chain. While most anglers were predicting a heavy four-day total to win, Palaniuk thought 75 pounds would be more likely. Shaw Grigsby won the last time the Elite Series was here, March 10-13, 2011, with 75-4. It was the first Elite Series event of Palaniuk’s career. He made the two-day cut and finished 44th.
“I have not found anything that tells me it’s going to be phenomenal,” he said after practice Wednesday.
