Walker gives up on canals and moves on to Lake George.
David Walker now has three fish for about 5-pounds. He's staying tucked away in a canal.
It didn't take long for David Walker to get started on his day. He just caught a 2-pounder.
This could be an over-statement of gross proportions, but it bears saying. This is one of the more interesting fishing days of recent Bassmaster history.
For the first time today, Alton Jones is headed out of this little pond located in a cut just across from the Red River South Marina launch site.
Alton Jones has caught three fish in the last 30 minutes, two that helped him. But he's culling up by ounces, not by pounds, as he hoped to.
Water temps rise for Jones
Alton Jones finally worked his way back to us, where we could have a brief conversation. He estimates his weight at "12 pounds and change."
It has gotten a lot more lively than even Alton Jones expected in here. The wind has picked up and he just upgraded with a three-pounder. Meanwhile, a wild hog came tromping along the bank behind Jones, not anywhere close enough to be a threat.
It's official - we have no idea what Alton Jones' total weight is at this time. He just caught a 2 1/2 pounder and culled a fish. We thought he only had four in the livewell, but he was out of our sight for about 30 minutes this morning and, obviously, caught a fish then.
