New Mexico BASS Team Trail traveled to Roosevelt Lake, AZ March 16, 2021, in a bad wind storm across two states. The next morning was a two-day practice before the two-day tournaments start. It was a cold start as a cold front hit 2 days before practice. The fishing was on, most of the teams haven’t been fishing in a long time due to Covid-19 in 2020 and winter had them hunkered down too.
Water was about 60 to 63 degrees in the afternoon. The weather got better each day and by the first tournament on Friday 3/19/2021 it was nearly 80 degrees outside.
First place went to Justin Orr and Greg McWhorter with 13.87 pounds and a big fish of 3.44, Second place went to Randell Bell and Mike Liska with 13.23 pounds. Third place went to Richard Sainz and Nicholas McIlrath with 12.22, and fourth went to Estevan Chavez and Juan Sedillo with 11.93 pounds.
