Jared Lintner has to be running on fumes now. But you can’t tell by his performance at Lake Travis. Lintner, who is 4th in the current Angler of the Year standings, has a chance to make his second Top 12 cut in a week.
Lintner finished 37th at Kentucky Lake two weeks ago, then headed for Charlotte, N.C., where he finished 2nd Saturday in the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Open at Lake Norman. Then he and wife, Keri, began the 1,200-mile drive to Austin.
Without much practice time, Lintner struggled on Day 1 at Lake Travis, finishing 75th. But the 44-year-old angler from Arroyo Grande, Calif., jumped 47 places to 28th with a 16-pound, 7-ounce bag yesterday.
He’s on the verge of moving up again today. He’s currently 14th on BASSTrakk.
