The first session of the Classic Bracket ended with a perfect example of one of the rules in this special event. The anglers get exactly three hours to fish during each these first two days – exactly three hours. A fish must be over the boat gunnel before time runs out.
Based on a “Bassmaster LIVE” replay, Dave Lefebre’s 3 1/2-pounder came over the gunnel with two seconds remaining on the official time clock. Two seconds!
Lefebre’s sprawled on his back on the boat deck after the catch. His reaction bears repeating: “That’s a clutch fish right there. It’s early in the Classic bracket, but that might be a Classic fish right there.”
