“He broke me off!” Lefebre said. “He’s got my jig in his mouth. I mean a frickin’ giant!”
Lefebre got a good look at the fish, which he estimated to weigh 5 to 5 1/2 pounds. He was flipping and skipping docks when he stuck the big bass. It wrapped his line around a metal support on the boat dock before Lefebre could reel it clear.
“He’s got me wrapped a million times,” Lefebre said.
It’s a vision Lefebre may well replay in his head a million times. A missed 5-pounder in these 3-hour fishing sessions on Pokegama is a nightmare.
