After moving to the bank Lefebre added a 1-14. It gives him three but he needs more. He almost got what he needed too.
He hooked up on a fish that wrapped him up near a dock. Before he could get to it, the fish shook free.
Lefebre said it was a 5-pounder. “Probably a 5 1/2,” he said.
That’s the kind of fish that would’ve truly changed the complexion of this event. And keep Lefebre up all night tonight, possibly for sometime to come if he were to get bumped from this opening round by that margin. He still has another hour, plus three tomorrow to wipe out that memory.
