Lake Travis covers only 18,622 acres, which is small for a Bassmaster Elite Series tournament. However, it doesn’t “fish small,” at all, according to several anglers, including David Walker.
“For a small place, you’re not fighting over spots,” Walker said yesterday. “You can go fish what you want to fish. There’s so much of it here. If you’re fishing bluffs or docks or points, there’s a lot of them.
“It’s pretty entertaining. I’ll go fish the bank for awhile, and I’ll be thinking I need to be out deep. It all works. I think that’s what’s fun about it.”
Walker finished in 13th place yesterday with 15-10. BASSTrakk shows him with only one small bass so far today, and he’s dropped to 61st place.
