At 8:15 a.m. ET, this was the view from a bay on Lake Harris. Andy Crawford took the photo and said there were 20 boats (out of a total of 94 boats in the tournament).
Marc Frazier just caught what Andy estimated to be a 5-pounder. That’s Frazier in the foreground, in the Monster Energy wrapped boat, staring down at his forward-facing sonar.
Local angler and Lake Eustis resident Ron Moore (yes, THAT Ron Moore), is Andy’s boat driver. Ron told Andy that shell beds are the key drawing card.
The area is about 200 acres, so the boats are spread out, relatively speaking.
As I was about to click the Send button, Andy called back to report that Jake Whitaker caught what looked like a 5-pounder. The bite is definitely on in this pileup of boats.
