Photographer James Overstreet just pulled up on Elite Series pro Jeff Kriet. The Oklahoman has already caught 14 bass weighing around 15 pounds. He had this to say about what’s next.
“This lake is full of spotted bass. Today I bet I’ll catch at least 50, maybe 70.”
Kriet is on his planned first stop of the day and he’s got many more to go.
He indicated the lake has risen about 1 foot. He’s happy, the largemouth anglers planning to prowl the shoreline for spawning bass are not.
Meanwhile, three other tournament boats are sharing water in the main lake arm with Kriet. Overstreet says everyone is catching spotted bass.
“Every time I turn around somebody is holding up a 3-pounder to pose for a picture.”
Joey Nania already has culled. Overstreet says he’s already got enough pictures for a gallery.
Be sure and check out my feature article following today’s weigh-in. It explains in detail why the spotted bass fishing is so good here. More to come!
