Mike Iaconelli just put on a textbook demonstration of a followup technique, and it paid off in a big way. Iaconelli has been swimming a jig to catch his first three this morning. After a fish bit and missed the jig, Iaconelli picked up a spinning rod rigged with a wacky worm. He hooked and landed what’s the big bass of the day – 3-pounds, 10-ounces.
If you know Iaconelli, you know there was a loud celebration that followed.
“Who throws 6-pound test (line) into the reeds?,” Iaconelli said. “Me!”
