Brett Hite said this morning that he wasn’t going to waver from his Day 1 game plan of fishing the piers at the North Grand Island Bridge. And it’s paying off this morning. Hite just landed a 3-11 smallmouth, which tops Keith Combs’ 3-9 as the big bass of the tournament so far.
Hite is doing exactly what he did yesterday – trolling in, out and around individual piers, reading his graph, and drop-shotting.
As I’m typing this, Hite has hooked up with his third bass of the day. It weighed 2-6. And Hite continues to build on the 2-pound, 3-ounce lead he had over Combs at the start of the day.
