We pulled up on Ray Hanselman about the time he set the hook and his line broke.
Obviously he was disheartened. He told us he had about 13 or 14 pounds, all of it and yesterday’s stringer of 14-5 were all caught in that spot.
We decided to stick. Several minutes later he hooked up and we watched as a big smallmouth went aerial, almost get wrapped in Hanselman’s Talon and eventually come aboard.
That fish appears to scare the heck out of 5 pounds. He culled a 2-pound class smallmouth. That should inch him really close to fishing tomorrow.
One more like it and there’s no doubt.
