Generation bumped up to 9am

According to the Tennessee Valley Authority website, power generation increased to "two or more generators" at 9 a.m. today. It is predicted to continue until midnight, but those predictions are subject to change.

Since current is such a big key to turning on the fish at Chickamauga (and all the Tennessee River lakes), it will be interesting to see how long it takes that 9 a.m. increase to affect different parts of the lake.

The amount of  water discharged from the dam has been a steady 6,700 cubic feet per second since midnight. At 9 a.m. it increased to 13,888 cubic feet per second.

"Anything helps, but that's still just a trickle," said boat driver Mark Grimsley. "The ledge fishing is best when (the discharge) is in the mid to upper 20s and low 30s."

As in 25,000 cubic feet per second vs. the 13,888 cfs that began at 9:00.
