Okay, so it’s mid-June and the temperature is soaring into the 90s on the Arkansas River. The spawn is long over, right? Well, maybe not.
Photographer Andy Crawford just phoned in news from John Garrett, currently tied for fourth place. Here is what was said between Andy and John.
“I think my fish are spawning, because their tails are bloody (from fanning nests),” said John, the 2017 Bassmaster College Classic Bracket winner.
Garrett added that his fish are soft biters, that he’s missed quite a few, only to have them bite later on. His pattern involves flipping at any shoreline wood cover along the shoreline, and whatever else he encounters out farther away.
Andy also reported that Garrett has two keepers in the livewell.
