As Blaylock patiently makes his way around docks not far from the take-off he has a flotilla on the water and fans on the bank. Included in the latter group is one dog with its tail waving, but a bark that is surely far louder than its bite.
It reminded me of the Grand Lake Classic where Mike Iaconelli had a run-in with a barking dog — and let the noisy canine have it in no uncertain terms. Of course, Blaylock is having a good day, while Ike was suffering through various maladies and misfortunes. It’s a lot easier to fish “in the moment” when things are going your way.
It’s amazing to me how slowly Blaylock is fishing, with a minimum of motion. The crowd has been respectful, but they’re relatively close. We just saw him release a fish that wouldn’t help. I’m sure a cull or two might provoke at least a mild celebration.
