Elite Series rookie Bob Downey of Hudson, Wis., was the first angler on the leaderboard this morning. He caught a 2-pounder at 6:43, after the 6:30 takeoff. Downey had a good Day 1 on Lake Guntersville. He finished 12th with 15-4.
