Cox on bedding fish

Spoke with bed fishing master John Cox briefly this morning. There’s been a lot of talk among the anglers of the spawn not being the deal here this week. According to several, the water is too low and the nights are a little too cool.

But all that being said, the water temps are in the 60s and spring seems to have sprung around here so the bass ‘should’ be moving up.

Cox is excited, having seen a few on bed and planning to start on bedders this morning. With the slightly dirty water, he thinks that some of the bites he’s getting shallow are actually spawners too that he just can’t see.

The trend in the weather doesn’t look good for a lot of fish to move up throughout the tournament, but it sounds like some spawners we’ll be caught here this week early on at least.
