Cox, Lester land lunkers

Apparently, the lunch bell rang at 11 a.m. at the Harris Chain. Brandon Lester landed a 7 1/2-pounder at 11:08, and John Cox caught what would be the biggest bass of the tournament so far, a 9-pounder, at 11:11.

Lester is in the process of recovering from his Day 2 drop in the standings. After leading on Day 1 with 23-0, Lester dropped to 15th place with 11-1 on Day 2. He’s got a limit weighing 16-8 this morning, which has him in a tie for 5th place with Bryan Schmitt. Cox started the day in 21st place. He’s got only another 2-pound keeper to go with the 9-pounder, but obviously, he’s got the foundation for a big day.
