Cherry notes falling water temp

In a phone conversation last night, reigning Bassmaster Classic champion Hank Cherry mentioned how the water temperature is falling – and that could be a good thing. The 60s is what he’s looking for, and at least first thing this morning, he may have found it.

Cherry, who left Lake Guntersville as Classic champ on March 8, said he was seeing water surface temperatures around 75 and 76 degrees when practice started Sunday. It was 70, 71 yesterday, on the final day of practice.

“The water temperature lost four degrees last night,” Cherry said on the “LIVE Mix,” as he was getting started this morning.

Cherry said yesterday that his game plan would be running-and-gunning today. Sure enough, he moved quickly from his starting spot this morning.

“The more I move, the better I do,” said Cherry in summarizing what he’d found in practice.
