Hank Cherry fished down White Lake to its end, into the canal that connects it with Lake Michigan, as you can see in the photo above. But he didn't stay there long. He motored back up to the mid-lake area and immediately caught bass No. 3 – a less-than-2-pound smallmouth. He's probably got around 6 pounds.
He didn't get the big one he saw right before that.
"There was a 4-pounder following it,"
"It" in this case, is a swimbait, which Cherry has been throwing most of the morning. He's been working in a swim jig as well. Both baits are white.
