As you can see in the accompanying photo, James Overstreet did NOT put the cover on the boat last night. He was thinking the wet boat deck carpet might dry out overnight; instead, it turned into an ice skating rink. At 28 degrees with a heavy frost on everything, it sure doesn't feel like spring in the Ozarks.
Overstreet and I are covering Chris Lane today. He's fishing in Long Creek. He already had a 1 1/2-pounder in the boat when we got here. He has since added a 2-pounder. Lane is throwing a red Luck-E-Strike crankbait, like he has all week.
